CONCERT BAND

Description:

Concert Band is a course for intermediate instrumental musicians. Students will focus on technique, tone production, and theory. Concert Band starts upon the completion of marching band.  Students in Concert Band continue to improve all concepts of a quality instrumental music program.  Students are able to participate in Solo and Ensemble Contest.   This ensemble's main performances are the high school Christmas Concert, Winter Concert, Spring Arts Festival, Richwood Memorial Day Parade, and NU Graduation.  These are the main performances but other performances may be added during the school year.  Performances and participation are major portions of the grading criteria.

What is Concert Band?

High School Band is open to all instrumentalists who have had at least 2 years of band experience or have a strong desire to learn an instrument.

Who is in Concert Band?

This class is open to high school students who have an interest in being a part of an instrumental music program.

What happens in Concert Band?

Concert music is emphasized. Quality tone and technique are key components.

What's the best parts?

Usually a full-group class.
