Band Boosters

The purpose of North Union Band Boosters is to provide financial & voluntary support to the Instrumental Music program of the North Union Local Schools above and beyond what is provided by the NU Local School district. The Band Boosters oversee fundraising activities to further the endeavors of the North Union Bands. Membership is comprised of parents and guardians of students participating in band and any other adult in the school or community who wishes to support the program.

 

BAND BOOSTERS MEETING DATES:

 

-October 13 @ 7:00 p.m. in the high school band room

-November 10 @ 7:00 p.m. in the high school band room

-December 8 @ 7:00 p.m. in the high school band room

-January 12 @ 7:00 p.m. in the high school band room

-February 9 @ 7:00 p.m. in the high school band room

-March 9 @ 7:00 p.m. in the high school band room

-April 13 @ 7:00 p.m. in the high school band room

-May 11 @ 7:00 p.m. in the high school band room

-June 8 @ 7:00 p.m. in the high school band room

 

We need to have 4 to 6 chaperones for each bus trip this fall. The trips that we need chaperones are listed below:

     9/11 - Highland football game

     9/12 - Bellefontaine Band Show

     9/25 - Northmor football game

     10/2 - Mt. Gilead football game

     10/16 - Elgin football game

     10/30 - Buckeye Valley football game

     10/31 - Prospect Halloween Parade

 

Please respond by emailing Mr. Leavitt listing the trips that you can chaperone. List your name and the name of any other parents who will be chaperoning with you. If you have a question about whether someone can chaperone feel free to email Mr. Leavitt about it.

  • Organize Band Student Achievement Awards
  • FUNDRAISING - Collecting 'pit pass' money at the Richwood Fair
  • North Union Festival of Bands - Saturday, September 26 @ 7pm

VOLUNTEER AND FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES

  • Richwood Fair pit pass collection  
  • North Union Festival of Bands
  • Sell ice cream at home basketball games
  • Arts Festival concessions

FUNDRAISING MONIES ARE USED FOR:

  • Purchasing uniforms and raincoats
  • Purchasing achievement awards and letters
  • Providing senior awards
  • Awarding $500 annual senior scholarship
  • Providing lunch during band camp
  • Pizza or ice cream party for pep band participants
  • Water for football games during warm weather
  • Paying for a portion of student’s meal after band shows
  • Memorial Day cook out
  • Instruments, materials or services requested by the Band director not covered by the school
