5TH GRADE BAND

Description:

5th Grade Band is a course for beginning instrumental musicians. Students will focus on technique and tone production. The 5th Grade Band will possibly perform during the month of December will definitely be performing at the North Union Arts Festival which is held in the spring.  Performances and participation are portions of the grading criteria.

What is 5th Band?

5th Grade Band is open to all 5th Grade students who have an interest in learning about playing a band instrument.

5th Grade students are in 5th Grade Band.

What happens in 5th Grade Band?

Each student will have 5th Grade Band once a week for 30 minute classes.  Students learn how to assemble their instrument, produce a good tone, how to play the first 6 notes in the book, basic rhythms, and performance skills.  The class will meet at 8:25 in the morning.  All students who ride the bus will ride the high school/middle school bus to the middle school and will walk from the middle school to the elementary school for the band class.  Once band class is completed the students will proceed to their class to start their normal class day.
